The second part has been completely redone, doing away with class specifics and opting in favor for other things such as sniping spots during Fort defenses, safe places to park your character if you happen to go away from the keyboard, and a mortar trick to earn extra organs during the Vinewrath event.
Are vistas splendid or what? Some of these sniping spots are near vista locations, others are a bit less obvious. As a word of caution, these spots are not 100% safe, as Mordrem Trolls, Leechers, and Jungle Tendrils are able to lob projectiles onto your position.
Other Mordrem that engage with melee or ground projectiles will not be able to harm you, so consider taking advantage of these places to gain the upper-hand.
Red Rock Bastion Sniping Zone #1: Northern Gate Ledge
Red Rock Bastion Sniping Zone #2: Vista Ledge
Indigo Cave Sniping Zone: Torch-Lit Pillar
Amber Sandfall Sniping Zone: Vista Ledge
Blue Oasis Sniping Zone: Palm Trees ‘n’ Paradise
Before I begin, let me say that there will be a fair number of people complaining about AFK players during the Vinewrath events. Whether you choose to use these spots and for whatever the reason, that is your business.
So, where are these havens, exactly? Each lane has a spot or area that is relatively safe to leave your character unattended whilst you do whatever it is you are doing during Vinewrath.
South Lane Haven: Vine Cradle
Middle Lane Haven: Cliff Scenery
North Lane Haven: Canyon Overpass
Ever do a Vinewrath in the North lane and see one or both mortars pointed towards the champion arena? Well, those mortars are able to land their shots inside the arena to tag the boss, adds, or any of the objects that spawn with each encounter.
This trick with the northern mortars has three benefits:
- More Mordrem Organs when using Extractors for Bandit Crests / Achievement Points
- Receiving credit for fighting a Vinewrath Champion if you were locked out and not Tracked.
- Providing extra damage and support for other lanes fighting their current Champion.
Please, note that if you are able to damage anything during one champion fight, you will receive the [Tracked] debuff, preventing you from entering the champion arena for over a 7-minute duration.
The mortar positioned closest to the Vinewrath entrance is easy to position, however, the one behind it is another story. Even when mortars are shot at full strength, the second mortar will land approximately 200-300 radius from the center.
If you can man the first mortar, excellent, if not, here’s a screenshot of where to position the second one to increase your chances of scoring a hit, receiving credit and an extra organ.
Let’s face it, most of the enemies encountered can be annoying, even down right frustrating at times. This final section offers a few tips that could help deal with some of the everyday Mordrem nuisance in the Silverwastes.
Mordrem Husk Slingers: Wall Flower
Mordrem Vile Thrashers: One-Track Mind
Mordrem Charging Terragriffs: Chilled Out
Mordrem Champion Iron Troll: Danger Zone Exit
That is it for the guide. Hope you enjoyed and found out something new. This will be the final piece that will cover Guild Wars 2 until the expansion comes out. Until next time, cheers, and good luck in the Silverwastes!
