Evolve’s alpha is available today for the XBONE while PS4 and PC players will have a chance to gear up and choose a role tomorrow on October 31st. So far, Evolve has been exploding with some of the biggest names on Twitch pulling in the numbers for a good first impression. Are you ready to hunt or be hunted?
Currently peaking at #3 on Twitch with over 47,000 viewers, Evolve is proving that it is no joke and that is to be expected from the development team behind Left 4 Dead, Turtle Rock Studios. A 4-player co-op game working together as a pack of hunters with a fifth player controlling The Monster.
Similar to Team Fortress, there are different roles and weapons players will use such as a healer, support, assault, and so forth, all working together to track down and eliminate The Monster. Currently, the alpha only provides four playable characters and one monster, but it has been officially announced during E3 2014 that there will be up to twelve characters and three Monsters at launch, including one named, “The Kraken!”
In case you are salivating as much as I am, the official release date for Evolve is February 10, 2015! That’s one more awesome game to add to your Valentine’s Day list of goodies with Bloodborne and The Witcher 3. If you are curious about Evolve and don’t have an access code, head on over to the Evolve Game Directory on Twitch and check out some streams. I have my jet-pack fueled and ready for next year, the only question now is: Who wants to be The Monster?
