Alien: Isolation is not available at this moment to the masses, but that won’t stop critics from publishing their reviews. Granted, they were allowed to do so by the publisher and how could you blame them? Usually, when publishers offer such an advancement for posting game reviews before the release, that displays a huge sign of confidence in the product.
As of Monday, October 6, 2014, we have a combined platform (PC, PS4 and XBONE) aggregate of 77.66% from MetaCritic and 81.68% from GameRankings. That’s friggin’ awesome! My original prediction was spot-on at 77% but that was only from MetaCritic, which makes this check even sweeter, considering there are other sources out there giving much love to Alien: Isolation. Now for a quick breakdown:

I can’t wait to get my bloggin’ hands on a copy of Alien: Isolation, and with a good reception of aggregate scores ranging from 76% to 85% (depending on the platform), who isn’t? All right, so maybe you are not a fan of the Alien franchise and/or don’t like to play horror games, that’s fine. I’m horrible at horror games due to my overly squeamish mentality and have only watched each of the Alien movies once – with the exception of the first film which was viewed twice – so at least you are not alone… or are you? Another predictions check next week when the verdict is out on The Evil Within. My guess is that Bethesda will have the same show of confidence for The Evil Within and let the critics open up their reviewing flood gates before the release date. Here’s to being a skeptic and a believer, all at the very same time. Cheers, and I will see you all soon!
